Your flight departed late and your contact has left word at the last minute that they would not be able to fetch you from the airport. What to do, what to do!  All flight long, you worry about how you are going to reach your final destination.

It doesn’t really matter what caused you to have to make last minute car rental deals, the fact remain that you end up doing it. You can do this a couple of ways.  Call a travel agency and let them sort it out for you, or you call directory enquiries to get names and contact numbers of car rental agencies, or you could research car rental companies on the internet.  We live in a wonderful era where technology is all around us.  If you do not have a laptop, you might have the internet on your mobile phone.  You might even want to access the internet from a public provider, like an internet café.  The minute it is possible, you decide which route to follow.

Most car rental companies are equipped for situations like this.  Truth is that they are there to provide a service.   It is your prerogative to make use of all their facilities.  Remember your preferences and state them up front.  Also remember to ask about road and traffic conditions, since you’re obviously in a strange town or even country.  If it is winter, it would be recommended to get a four wheel drive vehicle that would be able to cope with the weather conditions.
